
Conestoga Field Hockey Summer Strength Training

Here is where you will find all of the required strength training exercises. As a team we will be committed to gaining strength so we can have a competitive edge over our opponents. This program has been custom designed to strengthen *Field Hockey Specific* muscle groups. A few things to note:

IT IS OK if you do not have access to a weight room over the summer. You should be able to complete either the PIONEER or TEAMER exercises without access to a gym. The WAGON circuits have the exercises for the weight room which we will be doing at our Tuesday sessions in July (5 pm in the weight room at Stoga). They are the same circuit they just increase in reps/sets.

It is a good idea to go over the exercises ahead of time to get a little familiar with them before you get into the weight room or begin your workout.
Wrist Exercises: Wrist strength in the sport of field hockey is extremely important. Every time you work out you should complete a wrist strengthening exercise. Here are a few examples:

Week 1: June 17-23 Option to complete Pioneer, Teamer, or Wagon 1 Circuit
Week 2: June 24-30 Option to complete Pioneer, Teamer, or Wagon 1 Circuit
Week 3: July 1- July 7- Wagon Circuit 1
Week 4: July 8th-14th- Wagon Circuit 2
Week 5: July 15-21 Wagon Circuit 3
Week 6: July 22nd - 28th Wagon Circuit 4
Weeks 7 and 8: July 29- August 11 - Option to complete Pioneer, Teamer, or Wagon 4
